Celebrate the Golden Age of the Silver Screen!

Classic movie lovers in Auburn, California!

In 2016, Silver Screen offers screwballs and silents, revenge and romance—as well as mystery, murder, flying monkeys, and many, many laughs. It’s the series’ 20th year, and once again viewers can delight in great movies with great stars. Celebrate every first Saturday with actors such as Bette Davis, Humphrey Bogart, Greta Garbo, Sidney Poitier, Katharine Hepburn, Laurence Olivier—and more.

Presented by the Auburn Library, the movies are shown at 1, 4, and 7:30 p.m. in the Beecher Room of the library, at 350 Nevada St. in Auburn. Admission is free.

From 6 to 7:30 p.m. on the Monday following Silver Screen, join Susan Rushton for a deeper discussion of the movie in the Auburn Library's Beecher Room, 350 Nevada St. in Auburn. Just bring that month's discussion sheet -- available before the movie -- and an interest in looking at movies more carefully, finding more to enjoy in them. No purchase necessary.
